Since 2004, husband and wife-team Tony and Fran have managed an east london-based dry-cleaning store: The Steam Room which, a little-known fact, began as a chinese takeaway in the 70s run by tony’s father!
In addition to their bespoke services and specialist garment knowledge, over the years the store has gradually attracted a dedicated following that appreciates their distinctively idiosyncratic brand which fuses lifestyle and creativity and quirky boutique at the front of the shop.
Having been part of the East London community for almost half a century, The Steam Room and its intergenerational legacy considers itself a part of Hackney’s multicultural backbone and continues to passionately support and elevate the next generation of esea talent.

The main goal of tony cleans the metaverse project is to set up a State-of-the-art research and develop facilities to establish sustainable laundering and finishing techniques supporting our planet in “Tony’s way” while focusing on social responsibility and environmental concerns.
